With a combination of crispy skin and moist, juicy meat, few meals are more exciting than a pig roast.
We do ours a little bit different than the traditional Ontario style. Instead of roasting on a spit, which can take anywhere from 12-24 hours, we roast Cuban style, inside a box using radiant heat. This method can take anywhere from 4-8 hours depending on the size of pig and the weather.
Just a quick word about pricing. We get a lot of inquiries from folks wanting a pig roast for 10 people. The reality is that the costs involved in roasting a 10-15 lb suckling pig are almost the same as roasting a 100 lb pig. That means that the per person price of a pig roast for a small pig is often cost prohibitive for most groups. The point where a pig roast begins to make financial sense is about 50 people.
