Driveteq in Mont Tremblant

August 14, 2018 By The Garage Guy

For this trip, our outdoor kitchen traveled in a U-Haul trailer that was most capably towed by a 2018 Toyota Tundra.

For the second year in a row, we joined the folks from Driveteq, a high performance driving group, for a few days of lapping at the iconic Le Circuit Mont Tremblant in Quebec ski country.

For this event, the group stayed in the stunning new Havre des Légendes condos, just up the hill from the Mont Tremblant ski village. These 8 bedroom units are a magnificent place to host a group of driving enthusiasts with a passion for food!

We arrived early in order to create a fantastic arrival party to greet participants after their drive from Toronto.  The feast included our rustic grazing board filled with local cheeses and meats, applewood smoked side ribs, chicken wings and a selection of grilled sausages.

Our days included a hot breakfast and lunch, made fresh at the track, followed by a gourmet dinner at the house.

With breakfast in hand, participants listen intently at the driver’s meeting, which takes place on the shore of the lake next to the paddock.

Day one lunch consisted of hand formed burgers, either stuffed with blue cheese or ribboned with caramelized onions and bacon wrapped Great Canadian Meat Company jumbo dogs with a variety of fresh toppings, along with a couple of salads to minimize the meat coma.

Driving fast is remarkably hard work given the amount of mental focus used to perform, so when guests arrived back at the house, they were hungry!

We satisfied that hunger with a spectacular Italian feast, including Chicken Parm, Ricotta stuffed jumbo pasta shells, pesto pasta and a Tuscan tomato bread salad!

On Friday we started our day with a Canadian classic – a peameal, egg and cheese on an English muffin was made fresh right in the paddock, with fresh coffee and juice.

Lunch was the return of the taco bar, which was so popular in 2017. Steak, shrimp and chicken were grilled fresh and served with hard and soft tacos and all the fixings.

For dinner we busted out tour Mixed Grill Mayhem. A giant  live edge wood board, heavily laden with grilled steak, chicken, sausage and veggies. Grilled mini potatoes rounded out the meal!
